2nd ANNUAL GREEK FEST at the MISSION
MAY 30th & 31st, 2009
With the sounds of Greek music, folk dances, and culinary delights, the Greek Festival celebrates the proud heritage of Greece. Festival guests will enjoy delicious Hors d’oeuvres and the traditional Greek specialties such as souvlaki, chicken, gyro sandwiches with tzatziki, exquisite homemade Greek pastries like baklava and the delightful loukoumathes.
While listening to the sounds of live Greek folk music, visit our “OPA” Bar and Greek Kafenio to quench your thirst with some spirits or Greek coffee. Costumed dance groups will perform and guests are invited to join in the dancing after a dance demonstration.
In the beautiful “Mission Plaza” in downtown San Luis Obispo, the Festival will begin on Saturday May 30th at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 31st from 11 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is FREE!
Please join us for the fun and bring your friends and relatives.
The Greek Festival arose out of the Greek Orthodox community’s need to promote and maintain Greek cultural practices and traditions and to fund an ever growing operational budget to perform philanthropic ministries and to renovate our new church building. St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church is located at 232 E. Foothill Boulevard in San Luis Obispo, California.
