Daughters District Governor's Message To the AHEPA Family,
The year 2000 should be named the Year of the
Member. As a member you should all be asking yourselves:
"What can I do to promote/help AHEPA/DOP?" Here are
some things that all of us can do:
1. Volunteer your time and effort to your local, District
and National projects. They will be glad to have you
help them.
2. Bring in new members. Maybe your friend, your
koumbara, your goddaughter, sisterin-law to name
a few would love to join us.
3. Promote and support the preservation of the Greek
language. Without our roots, of which language is
the main one, we will forget where we are going.
4. Be trustworthy in your committee work- do your part
of the work on time, share freely your knowledge
and expertise, do not complain to outsiders about
your committee and definitely stand with your
committee when the going gets rough.
5. Promote and support education- Donate your time,
effort and dollars to support your local, District and
National scholarships, because our kids are our
future and they need all the help they can get.
I am sure if each one of you thought along these lines, you can come up with a lot more ways to promote and help your chapter. If in the past you withdrew from being involved, then let the year 2000 be a new beginning and become the outstanding member of the year!! May the year 2000 bring you prosperity, health and
happiness.
Yours in Theta Pi,
Marlena Uchimura |
